VISUAL PERCEPTIONS – VOLUME II

Perception – a set of procedures designed to identify, organize, and interpret sensory information as a means of developing an understanding, appreciation, and value for the nature of the natural and human-impacted environment.A portfolio of photos were captured by the author over a period of several years. Dates are provided when available, and brief descriptions add a sense of understanding for a feature or scene. The categories covered in this volume have been chosen for their thematic appeal as observed phenomena, and by extension, visual perceptions as viewed and captured through the lens of an observer. As with any photograph, one sees and interprets what they want to see, but perhaps what is described under each photograph will give one pause to reconsider other perceptual possibilities. An interesting scene should draw the viewer into the photograph further enabling them to witness the experience as it was viewed and captured. One’s active imagination is the most effective means of transferring a simple vision into a colorful story. As you view the photographs contained within each theme, consider you are traveling with the author, standing side-by-side as each image is created.
